About
My name is Christy Staats
I have been writing and teaching about immigration for a decade now. I was an organizer for six years speaking with churches, Chambers of Commerce, community leaders and Christian colleges, the Ohio Natl Guard, and conferences about immigration. Before that I was in ministry for 15 years, ten years overseas and then helped found Cru's national refugee and immigrant ministry in the US while I worked alongside a local church to launch their refugee ministry. I love doing focus groups and giving people a chance to really talk about immigration and have been honored to sit with pastors, sheriffs, businesss leaders, police chiefs and more in these intimate conversations. I am an AVP at the National Immigration Forum and get to spend my days helping all our faith programs to change the conversation and culture and policies around immigration. I love reading dead theologians. Tim Keller, Henri Nouwen, AW Tozer and Charles Spurgeon have had a big influence on me. I am an aunt and have a lovely cocker spaniel.
